Day One: Beauty is always felt

Posted on July 28th, 2008 in Diary | No Comments »

(Part of: Bangalore Trip: OSScamp Bengaluru Mobile 2008)

I continue my experiences from my previous post where I described my journey till the point where I was on-board the aircraft. Now, I shall try to pen down my thoughts through my maiden flight. I am sorry, this might turn out more like a philosophical rant.

While I was sitting in the craft, waiting for it to taxi and take off, I was very anxious. Here I was, travelling alone for the first time, unsure of how things will turn out. I had just some cash on me and a mobile phone to help me out. Just in case. I was nervous. Yadu was sick and so he wasn’t going to be around, local help was also limited. I had been warned about likely language and traffic troubles in Bangalore. I was afraid it might be a hostile city, after all, for a newbie like me. There were so many things that could go wrong in Bangalore.

Captain Hardings updated us on the status of the flight. We are on ground hold for engine start and taxi for another 20 minutes. Sorry for the delay. I whiled my time away looking at the distant airport and the nearby crafts. Soon, the plane started to taxi and the crew asked us to put on the seat belts, keep the seat straight, and brace ourselves for take off. Off all the people I could see, I was the only one following the instructions verbatim.

Nahi Samne Tu

Posted on July 23rd, 2008 in Songs | 4 Comments »

For Once: A Hindi Song to Share. This is one of my favorite AR Rahman songs. Another AR Rahman song that closely competes with this one is: Do Kadam Aur Sahi from Meenaxi.

This song is ‘Nahi Saamne Tu’ from the movie Taal.
You can hear it here: Nahi Saamne Tu

And as usual, here are the lyrics.

dekho chhod ke kis raste wo jaate hain
saare raste vapas mere dil ko aate hain

preyasi

nahin saamne, nahin saamne ye alag baat hai
nahin saamne, nahin saamne ye alag baat hai
mere paas hai, mere paas hai tu mere paas hai
mere paas hai tu mere paas hai
mere saath hai,mere saath hai

tera naam maine liya hai yahan
mujhe yaad tune kiya hai wahan
tera naam maine liya hai yahan
mujhe yaad tune kiya hai wahan
bade zor ki aaj barsaat hai
bade zor ki aaj barsaat hai
mere paas hai tu mere paas hai,
mere paas hai tu mere paas hai
mere saath hai, mere saath hai

bichhad ke bhi mujhse juda tu nahin
khafa hai magar bewafa tu nahin
bichhad ke bhi mujhse juda tu nahin
khafa hai magar bewafa tu nahin
mere haath mein hi tera haath hai,
mere haath mein hi tera haath hai

mere paas hai tu mere paas hai,
mere paas hai tu mere paas hai
mere saath hai, mere saath hai
mere pass hai, mere pass hai
mere saath hai, mere saath hai
mere pass hai, mere pass hai

Agreed, they appear the most-deewana, sicko types; but me likes it :D

And if you have trouble understanding the romanised hindi, I can do a sicko-types translation.

Fear me, I R Evil!

Day One: All Aboard!

Day One: All Aboard!

I started for the Domestic Airport at Delhi at 10AM, July 18th. Terminal 1B. Once at the terminal, I was rather clueless of what to do and where to go. Its a good practice, thus, that people put placards/path-markers at public places to guide people such as me.

I noticed the Spice jet Entry Marker and proceeded to the gate. The security personnel granted me entry into the terminal after checking my ticket and my identity. I was also guided to the check-in counter of Spice jet by the same security personnel. It was, in any case, easy to find.

So, I approached the check-in counter, showed my ticket, took my boarding pass, and put a security tag at my luggage. “Welcome to Spice jet”. Yeah! Thank You.

Boulevard of Broken Dreams

Posted on July 21st, 2008 in Experiences, Songs | No Comments »

(Part of: Bangalore Trip: OSScamp Bengaluru Mobile 2008)

I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don’t know where it goes
But it’s home to me and I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
and I’m the only one and I walk alone

I walk alone

My shadow’s the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart’s the only thing that’s beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
‘Til then I walk alone

I’m walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the border line
Of the edge and where I walk alone

Read between the lines
What’s fucked up and everything’s alright
Check my vital signs
To know I’m still alive and I walk alone

I walk alone

My shadow’s the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart’s the only thing that’s beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
‘Til then I walk alone

I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I’m the only one and I walk a…

My shadow’s the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart’s the only thing that’s beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
‘Til then I walk alone…

Prelude

Posted on July 21st, 2008 in Diary, Experiences, Travel | No Comments »

(Part of: Bangalore Trip: OSScamp Bengaluru Mobile 2008)

Home. Sweet Home. I am Back Home.

Two days. 48 Hours of solitude. Of missing my family Of working in an unknown city, managing an unconference alone comes to an end. The pleasure, the misery, the elation, the pain, everything. Everything.

This was my maiden trip without my family. My first Flying experience. I will document everything in this series of posts. I have a few ready and a few more to come. But this time I shall document my travelling experience completely.

But I am tired. I rested a lot. I prefer trains to flying. The experience is whoasome but yet, in a way, unfullfilling. But more of it more.

Food and sleep. Rest.

Soon, I shall bother you all with my recollections and my experiences. Reflections.

Adios. Have A Great Day/Night.

Kinshuk
