Dreaming with a Broken Heart

Posted on May 28th, 2008 in Experiences, Songs | No Comments »

After a long time, I, once again share a beautiful song with you. This time it is ‘Dreaming with a Broken Heart’ by John Mayer. Do listen to it, it emotes strongly.

When you’re dreaming with a broken heart
The waking up is the hardest part

You roll out of bed and down on your knees
and for a moment you can hardly breathe
Wondering was she really here
Is she standing in my room?

No, she’s not
cause she’s gone, gone, gone, gone, gone.

When you’re dreaming with a broken heart
The giving up is the hardest part

She takes you in with her crying eyes
then all at once you have to say goodbye
wondering could you stay my love
will you wake up by my side?

No, she can’t
cause she’s gone, gone, gone, gone, gone.

Do I have to fall asleep with roses in my hand?
Do I have to fall asleep with roses in my hand?
Do I have to fall asleep with roses in my hand?
Do I have to fall asleep with roses in my, roses in my hands?
Would you get them if I did?

No, you won’t
Cause you’re gone, gone, gone, gone, gone.

When you’re dreaming with a broken heart
the waking up is the hardest part.

Adios Amigo Mio.

"Regards",

A Trip To Allahabad

Posted on May 24th, 2008 in Diary | No Comments »

Thirteen days ago a tragedy struck my family. For the necessary rituals of which,  I now have to make a trip to the pious city of Allahabad. I shall be leaving today and returning on the afternoon of 27th.

If the occasion permits, I shall try to capture some sights and sounds of the city; I cannot promise though. But I can apprise you of the fact that Allahabad has been the cultural centre of the nation for a long long while. Many of the major cultural stalwarts, literature gurus, great artists of India have come from the city of Allahabad. Read about Allahabad at Wikipedia.

In the meanwhile, I have started job since the 21st of this May. I have to post an account of the transition in my life and how it feels. There are also some other general posts that I have to make, which, I fear will now have to wait at least till the 27th. See you then.

Until that time, I recommend you to watch the ‘Bee Movie‘. I watched it a few days back and enjoyed it thoroughly. And take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Be safe.

Love
Kinshuk

Bidding Adieu

Posted on May 17th, 2008 in Diary, GBO | No Comments »

Two Years. Seven Hundred and Thirty One days. Seventeen Thousand Five Hundred and Twenty Hours. Over. The End.

I, today, stand at that juncture in one’s life whence one phase ends and a new one begins. Ancient Indian System divides the life of any individual into four phases: Brahmacharya (Student phase; implies Discipline), Grihasthashrama (living in the material world), Vanprastha (Retired from responsibilities) and Sanyasa (renunciation), each lasting a period of twenty five years. A students life ought to be that of self-discipline and a guided effort towards learning - Brahmacharya. It is this phase that I cross now and enter into the material world. Soon, I’d start working. Life will be so different then.

But, before I start running the rat race I want to take a pause. Stop and pen down my thoughts here. So that when I grow older, I can always return here and remind myself how I used to be as a student. More particularly the two years that were GBO.

The Little Thatched Hut

Posted on May 15th, 2008 in Experiences | No Comments »

Yesterday, I was travelling from my home at Indirapuram to Gurgaon, just after the heavy winds and the light drizzle that brought a much-needed respite from the heat and humidity of summers. The pleasant weather was a blessing after everything we delhites have to duffer from in the name of summer.

So, my route to Gurgaon was: Indirapuram-Delhi-Gurgaon. Now, when you travel to Delhi from Indirapuram you have to cross the river Yamuna (if you can still call it a river in this part of the land). Just as you approach Yamuna on the Nizamuddin bridge, there is a stretch of about 2 kilo meters of farmlands on the erstwhile riverbed of Yamuna. I love this stretch. It has a tranquility, a serenity to offer which I covet.

There is a little thatched hut there, just before the river starts, which I have observed quite regularly. I have seen its inhabitants work around the hut in the fields and make a living. In the nearby (makeshift) market at the entrance to the commonwealth village, I have seen them sell their produce. Their’s is a life I would want to live for some period of time - without haste, without rush, without the impeding tensions of the routine, fast-paced, urbane life.

What An Idea Sirji!

Posted on May 12th, 2008 in Experiences | 2 Comments »

Logo of Idea CellularI had only heard about the abysmal quality of the Idea Customer Care but on 8th I managed to experience it first hand. It so happened that I had finally discovered Nokia Maps and how to use it on my N73M and a friend’s N95. So on 8th, after my End Term Semester Exam of the day, Jitender (the friend), Myself and a few other friends (Varun and Manish) sat together to try out the Nokia Maps. So began the ordeal:

First, I tried installing Nokia Maps on Jitender’s laptop but it needed Microsoft .NET Framework 3. Hence couldn’t install it on the Laptop. Thus, I first downloaded .NET Framework 3, installed it, then installed Nokia Maps, and then downloaded the India Map and the English (UK) Language Files. Presto! Now Jitender could use the map of Delhi in quite a detail and search around for places. However, he couldn’t use the Navigation feature since, it needed GPS. Looking around the Nokia Maps web, I found that N95 comes with A-GPS which uses GPRS to co-ordinate GPS data with the satellite and is a very speedy process using very less data. Awed, started our quest to activate GPRS for Jitender’s phone which is an Idea Number.

Some New Changes

Posted on May 12th, 2008 in Diary | No Comments »

Hi!

After a lot of experimentation and tidying up, I have finally settled for this theme. It is ‘WP-Polaroid’ by Adii. I like the theme and the whole final graceful look of it. For the first time, I also like how the way my ads are placed (finally yes). I had to do away with a lot of plugins that had extra stuff which I am not using. The Kitty once said, my blog needs to go on diet; I guess this is some diet indeed.

On other fronts, I just finished my GBO course. So Work-life now beckons me. And more soon… A lot of pending projects will soon find life. Just keep watching. And in case you need to know when I update my blog subscribe to it: as email newsletter or as an RSS feed.

Luv
